How to Move On and Let It Go - with Quote Pictures

Hello my awesome readers!
This time we will be talking about "move on" matters or "how to let it go". The word 'it' here refers to the uncomfortable feeling that we commonly know as sadness or brokenness.

Well, sadness must have been experienced by all of us. If you have pet at home like dogs, you will notice that they can be sad, too. So, if animal can be sad, how about us human? Here in this writing, I will share some things you can do to move on from your sadness or brokenness and let it go.

However, before we start, it is crucial to differentiate the cause of sadness itself. Why? Because like illness, every different kind needs different cure and treatment as well.

Case : Broken Heart because of Love
Falling in love with someone is beyond our control. There are some emotions that we cannot manage. Unlike anger that we can reduce gradually, love is capable of making people to do some unusual things (Read also: 18 Signs When You are in LOVE).
However, the truth is, we cannot set up how our love story will be like at the end. Of course, all people want to have a 'happy ever after' love story like those in most fairy tales. But don't you know that some fairy tales didn't end up in happy ending? You don't live a 'happy ever after' fairy tale, it's just the fact that you have to be broken.

When you fall in love with someone, you will pay your attention to him/her. So, when your crush ignores your or makes out with someone else or your couple cheats on you, yes, you are falling apart, breaking into pieces. It's deeply hurt. Your brain and heart must have a battle inside. Brain can be strong, but heart is fragile.

It's never easy to cure a broken heart because of love, but at least, you can try these.

1.  Take a silent moment for yourself

Give yourself a time to release the sadness. You are in charge to cure yourself. Take one night or a day off to think and recall the bitter sweet things. Just release it all, play sad songs, and cry out loud. In this point, you may look back all the memories, those photos or things about him/her.
Now, wipe your tears. You have to promise yourself “It’s the last time I cry for this one.” Keep away those memorable things. You can keep them in the hidden place or just burn them down.
2.  Change your mind
The strongest power in you is your mind and heart. They often fight like day and night because they see things in different light. But, change your mind first. Then your heart will follow it. You can read some encouraging quotes or motivational stories to help you. Remember one thing; you are too precious to be hurt. You deserve your happiness.

3.  Go out and breathe
Decorate your room
Get a new atmosphere. Repaint your wall, decorate your room. Go outside and get a life. Feel the warm sunlight and breeze. You can breathe in the fresh air and exhale your breathless. Oxygen and a new ambience will refresh your body, mind, and soul.
An important note:
Don’t come to the places that remind you to the bitter sweet moments, because when you are alone you will feel a lot more alone if your mind thinks “This is the place when I was with him/her”, “This is the place where we first met”, “If only I have you here with me now, I won’t be this lonely”, “This is the place where I saw you with him/her”. Never ever.
Skip the memorable places
4.  Hang out with your (best)friends or family
Call your best-friend, friend, brother, or sister to hang out with you. A company from your close ones will help you get rid off the loneliness and it will make you ‘forget’ your brokenness for awhile.

5.  Share it with your trusted ones
While you are hanging out with your close ones, you can share your story. But, make sure you tell it to the right trusted ones; the ones that will be good listeners, cheer you up, calm you down, encourage you, and won't embarrass you for being broken in front of other people.

6.  Meet new people
It is relating to point number 3. You can go out and meet new people. Smile and greet them. Help people in needs that you meet on your way. Who knows, you meet your true love among those people.
7.  Do your hobbies
What is your hobby? Do it. You can try a new recipe if you like cooking. You can start painting (but not your ex’s face) if you are an artist. You can go surfing, snowboarding, and singing if you like. Pass the time doing whatever you love. Time flies and heals everything.

8.  Try some new things
Besides your hobbies, you can try some new things you’ve never done before. You can change your hairstyle or hair color, go to some new places, try some new restaurants, or maybe travel the world. You will have some new experiences. Be fun!

9.  Listen to some cheerful songs
Skip the sad songs. It’s the time for cheerful songs. Play them the whole day, sing the lyrics, and dance if you want to. Cheerful songs build a good mood. A good mood will make you happy. You can also watch some funny movies and laugh out loud.
10. Keep away all the memorable things
It is started with point number 1 and 3 above. Throw away the stuffs and never come to the places that will remind you or potentially reveal your sadness. You have gone this far, don’t ruin your good effort.

11. Eat chocolate, drink coffee
Absolutely the sweetest mood boosters that can be consumed
Chocolate and coffee simply can make you happy. Let’s talk about the scientific things about chocolate and coffee and what they can do with the mood.
-    Consuming chocolate can affect the amount of serotonin in the brain. This chemical is known for having an effect on mood and is regulated by many anti-depressants. Chocolate contains substances called unsaturated N-acylethoamines that is responsible to activate cannaboid receptors that have the same effects that occur with marijuana consumption, but on a much smaller level. A finding by a Russian chemist in 1841 stated that raw bitter chocolate contains theobromine that is similar to caffeine in coffee. This substance is a stimulant that can make you feel more alert and energetic resulting in greater feeling of happiness.

-    A study conducted by Harvard University published in the World Journal of Biological Psychology states that caffeine in coffee stimulates the central nervous system by increasing the production of neurotransmitters in the brain such as noradrenaline, serotonin, and dopamine. So, it can provide the same effects as a mild antidepressant and not just a stimulant. In other words, coffee can be a powerful drug to release stress. However, the overdose consumption of coffee may reduce your sleep time and could make you twitchy. So, take enough portion.

Maybe you don’t really understand about the chemical terms above, but chemically, chocolate and coffee do have the ability to boost mood.

Case : Broken Heart because of Bad Things
Like brokenness because of love, broken heart due to bad things also needs different cure and treatment. Bad things in this case can be because you get bad news, you are disappointed, you are failed, or you have a very heavy life burden.

Remember, nobody in this world having no problem even if they look happy outside. Who knows that actually they are fighting a great battle inside of them?
Basically, it returns to what kinds of 'bad things' themselves. Mindset always holds the strongest power to change your way of life and heart! A positive mind will lead you to have a calm heart and a blissful life.
I will not reveal the steps as detail as in the first case. I believe that after you read the first case above (Broken Heart because of Love), you are wise enough to take some proper steps to relieve your brokenness.
An addition I can state here is "prayer". Prayer can help your heart be lifted up and always believe that God can do what seems impossible for us.
One thing that I would like to remind you here is there will always be day and night, even if you try to stop them or don't want them to appear. Just think that "the pain that you've been feeling is just the dark before the morning" as there is a rainbow after the rain.

This is one of my mottos that I want to share to all of my awesome readers.
"We were all born as a single fighter with the very great power. Win every battle. If you lose, you are a mighty legend."
- Shierly June -

Be strong and keep moving on!
